Holding
The writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn, with liberty to approach the appropriate forum at a later stage.
Summary
The petitioner, Maya, filed a criminal miscellaneous writ petition (No. 20035 of 2026) before the Allahabad High Court challenging an ongoing criminal proceeding. The State of Uttar Pradesh had already concluded its investigation and filed a charge-sheet against the petitioner on 24 March 2026. While the petitioner did not dispute these facts, he expressed a desire to withdraw the writ petition and seek relief in the appropriate forum at a later stage. The learned Additional Government Advocate informed the court of the completed investigation and the filing of the charge-sheet. The court, after hearing the parties, accepted the petitioner's request and dismissed the writ petition as withdrawn, granting liberty to approach the appropriate forum later. No substantive merits of the criminal case were addressed, as the petition was withdrawn.
