Allahabad High Court

GHANSHAYAM SINGH AND 4 OTHERversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 3 OTHER

Decided

Holding

The petition is dismissed as withdrawn, with liberty to approach the appropriate forum at the appropriate stage.

Summary

Petitioners Ghanshayam Singh and others filed a criminal miscellaneous writ petition before the Allahabad High Court challenging the investigation against them. The State had already concluded the investigation and filed a charge sheet on 29 July 2026. The petitioners, through counsel, did not contest this fact but expressed a desire to withdraw the writ petition, seeking liberty to approach the appropriate forum later. The learned Additional Government Advocate informed the court of the charge sheet and the petitioners' intention to withdraw. The Court, after hearing counsel, dismissed the writ petition as withdrawn, granting the petitioners liberty to approach the appropriate forum at a later stage.
