Allahabad High Court

SMT. KHUSHBU PRAJAPATI AND ANOTHERversusSTATE OF U.P. AND ANOTHER

Decided

Holding

The criminal revision is dismissed as having become infructuous due to the parties' compromise.

Summary

The petitioners Smt. Khushbu Prajapati and another filed a criminal revision (No. 2212 of 2024) before the Allahabad High Court under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code, challenging an earlier order. During the pendency of the revision, the parties to the underlying case (Harshit Raj Sangam and others vs. State of U.P.) entered into a compromise and filed an application under Section 482 Cr.P.C. No. 1651 of 2025 reflecting that they had no grievance against each other. The court examined the effect of the compromise on the pending revision. It held that the compromise rendered the revision infructuous because there was no longer any dispute to be adjudicated. Consequently, the court dismissed the criminal revision as infructuous. The order was pronounced by Hon'ble Mrs. Manju Rani Chauhan, J. on 21 September 2026.
