Holding
The court held that the applicant may apply for regular bail within four weeks and that no coercive action shall be taken against him during that period.
Summary
The applicant sought anticipatory bail and requested permission to approach the concerned court for regular bail, seeking protection of his interests for a short period. The learned Additional Government Advocate raised no objection to the prayer. The court directed that the applicant may appear before the concerned court within four weeks to apply for bail under multiple statutory provisions, and that his bail application be considered expeditiously without being influenced by any observations made in rejecting the anticipatory bail. Additionally, the court ordered that no coercive action be taken against the applicant for a period of four weeks. The anticipatory bail application was consequently disposed of.
Issues considered
- Whether the applicant may be permitted to approach the concerned court for regular bail without prejudice to the anticipatory bail application
- Whether coercive action should be stayed pending the applicant's regular bail application
