Allahabad High Court

DR NEELAM GAURversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 3 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn.

Summary

Dr. Neelam Gaur filed a writ petition before the Allahabad High Court alleging inaction by a Probation Officer in proceedings under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. The petitioner sought relief through the writ but later expressed a desire to withdraw the petition to pursue the matter before the appropriate statutory authority. The court examined the request to withdraw and the procedural propriety of dismissing the petition. No substantive merits of the alleged inaction were adjudicated. Consequently, the court dismissed the writ petition as withdrawn, granting the petitioner liberty to approach the competent authority under the Act. The order was pronounced by Justice Siddharth Nandan on 11 September 2026.
