Holding
The court directed the respondent to consider the representation for re‑registration and decide within two weeks, and disposed of the writ petition.
Summary
The petitioner, Sumit Rastogi, who operates a truck (registration U.P.-14/ET-8623) in the National Capital Region, sought re‑registration after the 10‑year permit expired, arguing that vehicles may operate until they reach 15 years of age. He filed a representation dated 1 August 2026 with the second respondent requesting re‑registration. The State, through its standing counsel, indicated that the representation would be dealt with. The High Court directed the second respondent to consider the representation in accordance with the applicable Government Orders and to either grant re‑registration or provide reasons for rejection within two weeks. The court ordered the petitioner to send a certified copy of the order and the representation to the respondent and disposed of the writ petition.
