Allahabad High Court

ARUN KUMAR SINGH AND ANOTHERversusSTATE OF U.P. AND ANOTHER

Decided

Holding

The petition is dismissed as the expert committee has confirmed that question No. 96 is correct and within the syllabus.

Summary

The petitioners challenged the validity of question No. 96 in a Teacher Grade T (T.G.T.) recruitment examination, alleging it was outside the prescribed syllabus. The respondent Commission submitted a revised expert committee report dated 26.08.2026, which held that question No. 61 was out of syllabus but affirmed that questions Nos. 96 and 41 were correct. The petitioners relied on an earlier order of the Lucknow Bench in Writ‑A No.7693 of 2026 (Praveen Kumar v. State of U.P.) which had dismissed a similar challenge to question No. 96. The Court noted that the latest expert opinion now confirms the correctness of question No. 96, removing any basis for relief. Consequently, the Court consigned the writ petition to the record, effectively dismissing it.

Issues considered

  • Whether question No. 96 in the T.G.T. recruitment examination is outside the prescribed syllabus and therefore invalid.
  • Whether the petitioner is entitled to relief in view of the expert committee's revised findings.

Subjects

  • recruitment examination
  • question validity
