Allahabad High Court

SHRIRAMversusTHE DIRECTOR GENERAL PRANITYA RAKSHAK DAL AND 4 OTHER

Decided

Holding

The petition is disposed of, with the Court directing the respondent to decide the petitioner’s representation within twelve weeks.

Summary

The petitioner, Shriram, filed a writ petition seeking a mandamus directing the Director General of Prantiya Rakshak Dal and other respondents to appoint him as a Guard in the Ghazipur unit and to release his salary regularly. He also requested a reasoned order on his representation dated 20.08.2026. The standing counsel argued that the petitioner had already approached the respondent authority, rendering the writ unnecessary. The Court, after considering the submissions, disposed of the petition, directing Respondent No.2 to consider and decide the petitioner’s representation within twelve weeks, ensuring notice and hearing to all parties. No substantive legal issues were adjudicated beyond the procedural direction.

Issues considered

  • What relief, if any, is appropriate in a writ petition seeking mandamus for appointment and salary?
  • Whether the petitioner’s prior approach to the respondent authority defeats the maintainability of the writ petition?
