Summary
Petitioner Veena Singh filed a writ petition seeking her transfer from the District Commissionerate of Kanpur Nagar to the District Jhansi Range. She had earlier submitted a representation to Respondent No.2 on 7 September 2026 requesting the same transfer. The Standing Counsel for the respondents argued that the writ petition was redundant since the representation was already pending. The Court agreed, holding that maintaining the writ petition would serve no useful purpose. Consequently, the petition was disposed of, with a direction to Respondent No.2 to decide the representation within twelve weeks, ensuring notice and hearing to all parties.
