Allahabad High Court

DHARMENDRA PRATAP SINGHversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 2 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The writ petition is disposed of, with the Court directing the respondent authority to decide the pending representation within twelve weeks.

Summary

The petitioner, Dharmendra Pratap Singh, filed a writ petition seeking payment of his salary from 8 May 2020 to 10 July 2022 and full salary during his suspension, along with other benefits. He had earlier filed a representation before the respondent authority on 19 January 2026. The respondent’s standing counsel submitted that the pending representation made the writ petition unnecessary. The Court held that proceeding with the writ would not serve any useful purpose and therefore disposed of the petition. It directed the respondent authority to consider and decide the representation within twelve weeks of the order, after serving notice and providing a hearing, in accordance with law.
