Allahabad High Court

MUKUND TOMARversusSTATE OF U.P. AND ANOTHER

Decided

Holding

The respondent authority must consider and decide the petitioner's grievance within one month by a reasoned order.

Summary

Mukund Tomar filed a writ petition seeking a direction to the Secretary, Basic Education Board, U.P., to consider his candidature for district allotment based on his quality point marks and his position (Serial No. 512) in the published select list. The petitioner argued that his application was pending without any order, while the respondent contended that the matter would be decided expeditiously. The Court, after hearing both sides, directed the respondent to decide the grievance within one month of the certified copy of the order, issuing a reasoned and speaking order. No specific legal provisions or precedents were cited. The petition was disposed with the direction, and no costs were awarded.
