Allahabad High Court

RAM KUMARversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 2 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The petition is disposed with a direction to the respondent to decide the pending proceedings within twelve weeks.

Summary

The petitioner, Ram Kumar, filed a writ petition seeking a mandamus directing the State of Uttar Pradesh to pass an order on his replies dated 03‑04‑2025 and 21‑04‑2026 seeking cancellation of a charge sheet dated 19‑03‑2025. The petitioner alleged that the authorities had not yet considered his replies. The State’s standing counsel argued that the petition should be disposed and the respondent be directed to decide the matter within a fixed time‑frame. The Court, without expressing any view on the merits, disposed the petition and ordered the respondent to consider and decide the pending proceedings within twelve weeks of the certified copy of the order, after hearing the parties, provided no other legal impediment exists. The order was signed on 1 October 2026.
