Allahabad High Court

AJIT PRATAP SINGHversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 3 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The writ petition is dismissed, with the petitioner directed to approach the concerned respondent for an ad‑hoc service order.

Summary

Ajit Pratap Singh filed a writ petition seeking direction for an ad‑hoc service order to enable him to claim a pension. The respondents, the State of U.P. and others, contended that the matter should be dealt with by the concerned department. The Court, noting a prior coordinate‑bench decision in Kunwar Pal v. State of U.P., held that the petition could be considered by the appropriate respondent authority and therefore did not entertain the writ on its merits. Consequently, the petition was disposed of, with liberty granted to the petitioner to approach the concerned respondent for relief. The order was pronounced by Justice Saurabh Shyam Shamshery on 6 May 2026.
