Allahabad High Court

CHHATRAPATI PANDEY AND 8 OTHERSversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 11 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The Court held that the consolidated writ petition must be dismissed and each petitioner must file a separate representation and deposit the required fee.

Summary

A writ petition filed by nine petitioners sought relief regarding their salary as Principals while serving as Officiating Principals, invoking a prior judgment (Special Appeal No.209 of 2026). The Court observed that although the cause of action was common, the orders required separate authorities, making a consolidated petition inappropriate. It directed each petitioner to file a separate representation before the concerned respondent through the Committee of Management, and to deposit a fee of Rs.100 with the District Legal Services Authority, Varanasi. The Court dismissed the consolidated petition, emphasizing the need for individual filings. Consequently, the petition was disposed of with the stated directions.

  • Whether each petitioner must file a separate representation and pay the prescribed fee.
