The writ petition is disposed without adjudicating the merits, and the petitioners are directed to make fresh individual representations before the District Basic Education Officer.
Summary
Nine petitioners, all Head Masters, filed a writ petition seeking an order directing the District Basic Education Officer (respondent No.5) to pay them the promotional increment and arrears with interest. The respondents indicated no objection to the petitioners filing fresh individual representations before the concerned authority. The Court, without expressing any view on the merits, disposed of the writ by directing the petitioners to submit fresh applications within three weeks, supported by relevant documents. It further ordered the respondent to consider these applications, afford a hearing, and issue a reasoned order within two months, provided there is no legal impediment.
