The petition is dismissed as withdrawn.
Summary
The petitioner, Gopal Yadav, filed a writ petition seeking a mandamus directing the respondents to (i) decide on payment of his monthly salary with arrears and interest, and (ii) restore his employment as a Ward Boy. He also sought any other appropriate relief and costs. The petitioner’s counsel later moved to withdraw the petition. The standing counsel for the respondents did not object to the withdrawal. Since the petitioner chose to withdraw, the court had no need to consider the merits of the salary or restoration claims. Accordingly, the High Court dismissed the petition as withdrawn.
Issues considered
- Whether the court should issue a mandamus directing payment of the petitioner’s salary and arrears.
- Whether the court should direct the restoration of the petitioner’s employment as Ward Boy.
