Allahabad High Court

BINDESHWARI PRASADversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 2 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The petition is dismissed as infructuous because the relief sought has already been granted.

Summary

The petitioner Bindeshwari Prasad filed a writ petition (WRIT‑B No. 4910 of 2024) before the Allahabad High Court seeking relief against the State of Uttar Pradesh and two others. The petitioner’s counsel informed the Court that the relief sought had already been granted by the consolidation authorities, rendering the petition unnecessary. The respondents’ standing counsel raised no objection to this statement. The Court, after noting the petitioner's submission and the lack of opposition, held that the petition was infructuous. Consequently, the writ petition was disposed of as infructuous, effectively dismissing the petition.
