The court ordered the Sub‑Divisional Magistrate to decide the case under Section 67‑A of the U.P. Revenue Code, 2006 within two months, without unnecessary adjournments.
Summary
Deenanath filed a writ petition seeking a direction to the Sub‑Divisional Magistrate of Tehsil Kasiya, District Kushinagar, to decide a pending case (No. T202605440402541) filed under Section 67‑A of the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code, 2006. The petitioner contended that an inordinate amount of time had elapsed without a final decision. The High Court examined the record and noted the delay in adjudication. It held that the magistrate must decide the matter strictly in accordance with law and without unnecessary adjournments. Consequently, the court directed the magistrate to dispose of the case within two months, thereby granting the relief sought.
