Allahabad High Court

PINTUversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 3 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The Court disposed of the petition, directing the petitioner to file a fresh representation and the Committee to decide it within a stipulated period, without granting mandamus.

Summary

Petitioner Pintu filed a writ petition seeking a mandamus directing the District Level Caste Certificate Scrutiny Committee, Mau, to consider his application and issue a Scheduled Tribe caste certificate. He had submitted a representation on 30‑12‑2025, but no decision was rendered. The respondents argued that a writ would not serve any useful purpose and suggested a direction to consider the grievance. The Court, without examining the merits, disposed of the petition and ordered the petitioner to file a fresh representation within one month, attaching a certified copy of the order. The Committee was directed to decide the fresh representation within one month of receipt.
