LALTA PRASAD PANDEYversusSTATE OF UTTAR PRADESH AND 17 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The petition is not maintainable and is dismissed because an alternative remedy is available to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Lalta Prasad Pandey, filed a writ petition challenging a revisional order dated 23 March 2026 that had been passed in a revision filed by the respondents. The respondents' standing counsel raised a preliminary objection that the petitioner possessed an alternative statutory remedy by filing a revision before the Board of Revenue. The court examined this objection and held that the existence of an alternative remedy barred the petition from being entertained. Consequently, the court declined to consider the merits of the petition. The petition was disposed of, with the court directing the petitioner to pursue the available remedy under law.

                                    1. Heard learned counsel for the parties, learned Standing Counsel for State-
