Since the cause of action for the writ petition ceased to exist after compliance with the earlier order, the petition was dismissed.
Summary
Ashutosh Kumar Singh filed a writ petition (WRIT‑C No. 32586/2026) against the State of Uttar Pradesh and two other respondents. The standing counsel submitted instructions indicating that the Sub‑Collector of Jaunpur assumed charge on 3 June 2026 and that the order passed in RIT petition No. 18945/2025 dated 4 June 2025 had been complied with in the revenue records. The petitioner’s counsel did not contest these facts. The court observed that, on the basis of the compliance, the cause of action for the writ petition no longer existed. Consequently, the petition was deemed unnecessary and was consigned to the record, effectively dismissing it. The judgment was delivered by Justice Sudhanshu Chauhan on 28 September 2026.
