Allahabad High Court

RAMPATIversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 3 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The Court may direct the administrative authority to decide the pending application within a stipulated time when no legal impediment exists.

Summary

The petitioner, Rampati, filed a writ petition seeking the expeditious disposal of an application dated 06-11-2025 that was pending before the Sub‑Divisional Officer, Tehsil‑Soraon, District Prayagraj (respondent No.3). The sole relief prayed for was a direction to the officer to decide the application within a reasonable time. Both the State’s standing counsel and the counsel for respondent No.4 raised no objection to the prayer. The Court, noting the absence of any legal impediment, ordered that the pending application be decided preferably within six months of the certified copy of the order. Consequently, the writ petition was disposed of with the said direction.
