Allahabad High Court

SMT. MEERA AND ANOTHERversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 3 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The court directed the Tahsildar to decide the pending mutation case within four months, thereby granting the relief sought.

Summary

The petitioners, Meera and another, filed a writ petition seeking a mandamus directing the Tahsildar of Tehsil Phulpur, District Azamgarh, to decide a pending mutation case (No. 3525/2022) filed on 3 June 2022 under Sections 34 and 35 of the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code, 2006. The petition argued that the case had been unduly delayed and required expeditious disposal. The State’s standing counsel raised no objection to the court directing the Tahsildar to decide the case. The court, after hearing counsel, ordered that the Tahsildar decide the pending mutation case within four months of the certified copy of the order. The writ petition was therefore disposed with the direction to the respondent.
