Allahabad High Court

ARIFversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 2 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The High Court directed that the pending appeal under Section 18 of the Arms Act be decided expeditiously.

Summary

The petitioner Arif filed a writ petition seeking a direction that his appeal under Section 18 of the Arms Act, 1959, pending before the Commissioner, Meerut Division, be decided expeditiously. The petition was filed in the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad. The court, after hearing counsel for both parties, observed that not only the petitioner’s case but any similar pending cases should be decided promptly in a chronological manner.
