Allahabad High Court

BHARATI NAG AND ANOTHERversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 3 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The petition is dismissed as it has been voluntarily withdrawn by the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioners, Bharati Nag and another, filed a writ petition before the Allahabad High Court seeking relief concerning a live-in relationship, asserting that both families had consented to their marriage, which the court noted as contradictory. During the hearing, the petitioner's senior counsel expressed the desire to withdraw the petition and not pursue further relief. The respondent's counsel raised no objection to the withdrawal. The court, after confirming the petitioner's intention to retract the filing, ordered the petition to be dismissed. Any certified copies of the petition, if filed, are to be returned as per procedural rules.
