Allahabad High Court

SMT SANJANA AND ANOTHERversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 3 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The writ petition is dismissed as not pressed.

Summary

The petitioners, Smt Sanjana and another, filed a writ petition before the Allahabad High Court. Their counsel, Pradeep Kumar, later informed the court that he did not wish to pursue the petition and sought its dismissal as ‘not pressed’, requesting liberty to file a better petition later. The standing counsel for the State of U.P. and other respondents raised no objection to this request. The Court, after noting the petitioner's intention, dismissed the writ petition as not pressed, granting the liberty sought. The certified copy of the petition, if any, was ordered to be returned to the petitioner's counsel after a photocopy was placed on record.
