Allahabad High Court

RAJA JANAK SINGHversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 3 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The respondent must decide on the petitioner’s reply within three weeks and no coercive action shall be taken against the petitioner pending that decision.

Summary

Raja Janak Singh filed a writ petition seeking a directive to the Executive Engineer (Commercial Vertical‑2, Madyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd., Bareilly) to decide on the petitioner’s reply dated 29‑08‑2026, which was filed in response to a notice dated 01‑08‑2026. The respondents argued that the Engineer would take a decision expeditiously. After hearing both sides, the Court ordered that the Engineer must decide on the petitioner’s reply within three weeks of the certified copy of the order and that no coercive action be taken against the petitioner pending that decision. The petition was therefore disposed with the said direction. The order was signed by Judges Vivek Saran and Prakash Padia on 24‑09‑2026.
