Allahabad High Court
TAUFIQversusSTATE OF U.P. AND ANOTHER
- Decided
Holding
The petition is dismissed for want of prosecution.
Summary
The petitioner filed Writ Petition No. 43844 of 2011 before the Allahabad High Court seeking relief against the State of U.P. and another respondent. The petition remained pending for several years and, on the date of hearing, no representative of the petitioner appeared before the court. The respondent's counsel was present and informed the court that the petitioner appeared disinterested in pursuing the matter. The court observed that the passage of time and the petitioner's lack of interest rendered the petition infructuous. Consequently, the court dismissed the petition for want of prosecution and discharged any interim orders that may have been in force.

List is being revised. Nobody is present on behalf of the petitioner whereas Sri Ravi
Mishra, learned Advocate holding brief of Sri K.M.Asthana, learned counsel for
respondent is present..
The matter is of the year 2011. It appears that either matter has rendered infructuous
due to efflux of time or the petitioner is no more interesting in pursuing the writ
petition.
However, since petitioner is not present, we are dismissing the present petition for
want of prosecution.
Interim order, if any, stands discharged.
