Allahabad High Court

SARFARAZ ALAM AND OTHERSversusSTATE OF U.P. AND OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The writ petition is dismissed as having become infructuous.

Summary

Petitioners filed a writ petition (Writ No. 56210 of 2009) before the Allahabad High Court seeking relief against the State of U.P. and others. During the hearing, petitioners informed the Court that subsequent developments had rendered the petition moot. No opposition was raised by the private respondents or the State's standing counsel. The Court accepted the petitioners' submission and allowed the prayer to dismiss the petition as infructuous. Consequently, the writ petition was dismissed on the ground that it had become infructuous.
