Allahabad High Court
MANOJ SINGHversusSTATE OF UTTAR PRADESH AND 5 OTHERS
- Decided
Holding
The Court disposed of the writ petition and directed the petitioner to file a fresh representation before the District Magistrate, without deciding the merits of the compensation claim.
Summary
The petitioner, a recorded Bhumidar and co‑sharer of agricultural land in Gautam Buddha Nagar, claimed that his land was affected by the laying of a 400 kV Jalpura‑Khurja power transmission line and that he had not received compensation despite representations under the revised Government of India guidelines of 14 June 2024. The respondents argued that the writ petition should not be kept pending and suggested that the grievance be considered by the appropriate authority. The Court, without examining the merits, disposed of the writ petition and ordered the petitioner to file a fresh representation, with a certified copy of the order, before the District Magistrate within one month. The District Magistrate was directed to decide the representation within one month of receipt. The order thus provides procedural relief but does not adjudicate the substantive compensation claim.
