Allahabad High Court
BIJENDRA KUMAR AND 10 OTHERSversusSTATE OF U.P. AND ANOTHER
- Decided
Holding
The Court ordered the petitioners to file separate representations before the Tehsildar and directed the Tehsildar to decide them within one month.
Summary
The petitioners filed a writ petition seeking a direction to the Tehsildar of Khatauli to decide on their representation dated 27‑12‑2025 for issuance of English versions of their Scheduled Caste certificates, which had already been issued in Hindi. The State's standing counsel argued that the petition should not be kept pending and that the Tehsildar should be directed to consider the grievance. The Court, without delving into the merits, disposed of the petition by allowing each petitioner to file a detailed separate representation, along with a certified copy of the order, before the Tehsildar within one month. The Court further directed that the Tehsildar decide the representation within one month of receipt. The order thus provides procedural guidance but does not adjudicate the substantive right to an English certificate.
