Holding

The petition is dismissed for non‑prosecution and a cost of Rs.5,000 is imposed.

Summary

The petitioners filed Writ No. 950 of 1991 before the Allahabad High Court but failed to appear before the Court. The Court observed that the petition has been pending since 1991 and the petitioners or their counsel have not shown diligence in pursuing the matter. Consequently, the Court dismissed the writ petition on the ground of non‑prosecution. A cost of Rs.5,000 was imposed on the petitioners, to be deposited with the High Court Legal Services Committee. The interim order, if any, was vacated and the Registry was directed to accept a restoration application only upon receipt of the cost payment proof. A copy of the order was to be sent to the petitioner at his address.
