Bail was granted to the petitioner subject to a cash bond, sureties and conditions under Section 482(2) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.

Summary

Arbind Singh was arrested on allegations of creating fake social media accounts to defame an informant's daughter and disrupt her marriage, invoking sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act. The petitioner contended that the case was fabricated due to a matrimonial dispute, asserting his innocence and clean criminal record. The State opposed his bail application, emphasizing the seriousness of the offences. The court examined the factual matrix, the petitioner’s lack of prior convictions, and the possibility of cooperation with the investigation. Considering these factors, the court granted bail subject to a bond and sureties, and conditioned it on compliance with Section 482(2) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.
