Disposal
DISMISSED AS INFRUCTUOUS

Holding

The contempt application was dismissed because the order of the Writ Court had been complied with, rendering the application ineffective.

Summary

The applicants, Somveer Singh and four others, filed a civil contempt application against Dr. Vijay Bahadur Dwivedi, Director of Horticulture and Food Processing, Lucknow. The opposite party filed an affidavit of compliance and their standing counsel, Mr. Amrendra Pratap Singh, asserted that the order of the Writ Court had already been complied with. The High Court examined the Writ Court order and the compliance affidavit. It concluded that, because the order had been fulfilled, the contempt application no longer had any operative basis. Consequently, the Court dismissed the contempt application as having lost its efficacy.
