Allahabad High Court

GOPAL JI PANDEYversusANURAG SINGH, TEHSILDAR

Decided

Holding

The contempt application was dismissed as infructuous because the order under Section 67 of the U.P. Revenue Code, 2006 had been complied with.

Summary

The writ court had directed the Tehsildar to complete proceedings under Section 67 of the U.P. Revenue Code, 2006. The Tehsildar filed a compliance affidavit on 21 October 2024, attaching the order dated 27 March 2024 as annexure. The applicant, Gopal Ji Pandey, filed a contempt application alleging non‑compliance. The court examined the affidavit and found that the required order had indeed been complied with. Consequently, the court held that the contempt application was no longer viable and dismissed it, discharging the contempt notice.
