Allahabad High Court

SUDARSHAN CHAUHANversusSANTOSH SHUKLA, TEHSILDAR

Decided

Holding

The contempt application is dismissed as the order of the writ court has been fully complied with.

Summary

The High Court of Allahabad was hearing a contempt application (Civil) No. 6210 of 2024 filed by Sudarshan Chauhan against Santosh Shukla, Tehsildar. The contempt petition arose because the writ court, in a prior writ petition (PIL No. 1523 of 2023), had directed the opposite party to complete proceedings under Section 67 of the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code, 2006. The opposite party filed a compliance affidavit on 4 December 2024 stating that the required proceedings were concluded on 23 and 25 September 2024, attaching the relevant documents. The court found that the order of the writ court had been fully complied with, rendering the contempt application moot. Consequently, the contempt notice was discharged and the application dismissed.
