Allahabad High Court
ROBIN KUMAR AND 2 OTHERSversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 3 OTHERS
- Decided
Holding
The writ petition challenging the FIR was dismissed as the charge‑sheet had already been filed.
Summary
The petitioners, Robin Kumar and two others, filed a criminal miscellaneous writ petition in the Allahabad High Court challenging the registration of an FIR. The State, represented by the learned Additional Government Advocate, submitted an office report dated 11 May 2026 indicating that a charge‑sheet had already been filed by the Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh. The Court observed that since the charge‑sheet was on record, the petition challenging the FIR was no longer maintainable. Consequently, the Court dismissed the writ petition and ordered it to be consigned to the record. The petitioners were advised that they may pursue any other remedy available under law.
