Allahabad High Court

ARVIND KUMAR YADAVversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 4 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The Court disposed of the writ petition, directing the respondent to decide the pending case expeditiously within three months, without expressing any opinion on the merits.

Summary

Arvind Kumar Yadav filed a writ petition seeking a mandamus directing the respondents to expedite the pending case No. 10830 of 2025, which is filed under Section 24 of the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code, 2006. The petitioner argued that despite several dates being fixed, the case remained undecided since 2025. The Court, after hearing counsel, declined to opine on the merits of the underlying case but ordered the respondent to decide the matter expeditiously, preferably within three months of the order, and to avoid unnecessary adjournments. The direction was issued without granting any further stay to the petition. Consequently, the writ petition was disposed of with the specific directive to the respondent.
