POONAM SONGHversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 2 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The Court ordered the Tehsildar to decide the restoration application within three months, thereby granting the petition for expeditious disposal.

Summary

Petitioner Poonam Singh filed a writ petition seeking the expeditious disposal of her restoration application pending before the Tehsildar, Sadar Deoria, under Section 34 of the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code, 2006. The petition sought a time‑bound decision on the application filed in 2022. The State’s standing counsel raised no objection to the prayer. The Court, after hearing counsel, directed the Tehsildar to decide the restoration application within three months of the certified copy of the order. The order was to be reasoned and speaking. Consequently, the petition was disposed with the specified direction.
