Allahabad High Court

AISHRAJversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 3 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The Court directed the respondent to decide the pending application within three months, without expressing any opinion on its merits.

Summary

Petitioner Aishraj filed a writ petition seeking the expeditious disposal of his application dated 24‑02‑2026 filed under Section 67‑A of the U.P. Revenue Code, 2006, which was pending beyond the prescribed time‑bound period. The sole relief prayed for was a direction to the respondent to decide the application within a specific time. The respondents raised no objection to the prayer. The Court, noting the lack of opposition, ordered the respondent (State of U.P.) to decide the pending application within three months of the certified copy of the order, expressly stating that it was not expressing any view on the merits of the underlying application. Consequently, the writ petition was disposed of with the said direction.
