- Decided
Holding
The Court directed that the pending case be decided within one month, thereby granting the relief sought in the writ petition.
Summary
The petitioner, Sachchidanand Verma, filed a writ petition seeking a mandamus directing respondents (the State of U.P. and the Azamgarh Development Authority) to decide a pending case (No/AZDA/ANI/2024/0000750, State vs Renu Verma) and his application dated 16‑02‑2026 expeditiously. The petitioner alleged that his complaint had not been addressed. The respondents contended that the complaint would be decided as soon as possible. The Court, without examining the merits, exercised its supervisory jurisdiction and ordered that the complaint be decided within one month of the certified copy of the order. Consequently, the writ petition was disposed of. The order was signed by the judges of the Allahabad High Court.
