Allahabad High Court
HANSRAJ SINGHversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 2 OTHERS
- Decided
Holding
The High Court disposed of the writ petition, directing that the pending application be decided expeditiously, preferably within three months, without expressing any opinion on the merits.
Summary
The petitioner, Hansraj Singh, filed a writ petition seeking a mandamus directing the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (respondent No.2) to decide his application dated 11‑05‑2026 and to register a sale/sub‑lease deed for Plot C‑519. The petitioner relied on a Supreme Court decision (Civil Appeal No.11052 of 2025, Ram Kishore Arora v. Bank of Maharashtra) to argue for an expeditious decision. The Court noted that keeping the writ pending would serve no useful purpose and, with the parties’ consent, disposed of the petition without addressing the merits. The order directed that the application be decided in accordance with law, preferably within three months of the certified copy of the order. No substantive discussion on the underlying property right was made.
